Outskirts

These are the outskirts. The fields that surround London, Ontario. The land we bask in when we leave the city and the sky opens wide over the long lines of hedgerows and distant trees.

These are not destinations. They are the in-between - the roads we drive when we have left home, but not yet arrived where we are going.

There is something about looking to the horizon that pulls us out of ourselves. A quiet longing. Not for the dramatic or the sublime, but for the familiar. These Southwestern Ontario landscapes are that familiar comfort.

A companion on the journey.

These lands we share and know are not simply a backdrop. They shape how we see, how we leave, and how we return.

I hope these fields feel like a companion you have always known.
